Can the Jeep Wrangler Go Off-Road?
The Jeep Wrangler is made to go beyond the pavement, designed for optimal performance on-and-off-roads. It’s built for adventure, with its high-tech traction capabilities, which gives impressive control and unbeatable off-roach performance. Its maneuverability and high-performance wheelbases allow you to easily maneuver tight, treacherous trails, navigate around rocks or fallen logs with maximum traction while going over obstacles. In a Wrangler, obstacles are just the start of the adventure. Heavy-duty steel skid plates offer optimal strength, durability, and performance while helping to protect key components like the fuel tank. It’s an off-road legend.
What kind of performance features does the Jeep Wrangler have?
The various body styles of the 2021 Wangler will have three primary powertrains to choose from. Buyers will start out their journey looking at an entry-level Wrangler with the 3.6-liter, Pentastar V-6 engine attached to a six-speed manual transmission. It will produce 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This same engine can also be equipped with the e-Torque system, which will then make the transmission an eight-speed automatic.
A 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V-6 will be attached to an eight-speed automatic as well, with a performance output of 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. Finally, Jeep is also making a turbocharged, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine available that will produce 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The new Wrangler 4xe uses the same four-cylinder engine attached to a fully enclosed electrical system to increase fuel economy and performance with an output of 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Now that’s some serious performance specs!
What safety features are in the Jeep Wrangler?
The Wrangler offers available active safety and security features that continually monitor driving conditions and alert you to act when needed. Some of these features include:
- Available Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection rely on radar-based sensors to detect other vehicles in your blind spot zones or crossing behind you.
- Available Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking alerts you when it senses a potential frontal impact and will automatically engage the brakes if you don’t respond.
- Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go automatically adjusts your driving speed to maintain a preselected distance from the vehicle ahead.
- The available ParkSense Rear Park Assist System uses sensors to alert you if you’re too close to an obstacle while backing up, and the ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera displays the area behind your vehicle using dynamic gridlines.
Lastly, A high-strength steel frame creates a rigid chassis and solid foundation to help maximize crash protection, while an advanced airbag system, including side airbags, is ready to be deployed when needed. So, no matter what, you are ready for whatever comes your way.
