The Ram 1500 is a full-size light-duty truck that offers stylish design, smooth and powerful performance, a refined ride, and a high-tech cab. The 1500 is available in Tradesman, Lone Star (only in Texas), Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX trim levels.
Engine options include a 3.6-liter V-6 and a 5.7-liter V-8, each with mild hybrid technology, a 3.0-liter diesel, and, exclusively in the high-performance TRX, a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8. Depending on your truck’s engine and configuration, you get a maximum payload of 2,300 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds. The available trailer reverse steering control makes it easy to back up your trailer with confidence.
The Tradesman trim is the no-frills workhorse of the Ram 1500 lineup. As you move up the trims, you’ll find available features such as leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, real wood accents, dual-zone climate control, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch or 12-inch infotainment touch screen, a head-up display, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
If you need more capability, check out the Ram 2500. This heavy-duty truck is offered in similar trims to the 1500, but the off-road specialized Power Wagon replaces the TRX. The 2500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter V-8 engine, or you can opt for a six-cylinder 6.7-liter turbo diesel for its 850 lb-ft of torque. You get a payload of up to 4,000 pounds, and you can tow up to 20,000 pounds.
With the Ram 2500’s available 12-inch instrument cluster, you can display details such as towing specific navigation, trailer brake status, and a trailer light check for confident towing. The available digital rearview mirror now features side camera integration for better views of both sides of your trailer.
The Ram 3500 offers even greater towing and payload capacities. You get the same base engine options as the Ram 2500 along with a high output version of the turbo diesel. It generates 1,075 lb-ft of torque for a massive maximum towing capacity of 37,090 pounds when properly equipped. With the 6.4-liter V-8, the Ram 3500 gives you a maximum payload of 7,680 pounds. Offered in five trim levels, the 3500 has similar available features and technology as the 2500.
